Among the 36 incumbents, some have been long-serving assemblymen, given their long streak of victories in the state polls over the years.

The Umno leader won the state polls six times in a row beginning 1999, according to data from ElectionData.MY.

In second place is a tie between two prominent leaders - Chennah assemblyman Anthony Loke Siew Fook, who is also Transport Minister, as well as Rantau assemblyman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who is Foreign Minister.

They claimed to have been left with no other option but to declare a loss of confidence as the Mentri Besar had failed to handle the state royal crisis.
