If there is one person who could be Malaysia's favourite boss, it’s none other than popular food entrepreneur Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, better known as Khairul Aming.

The Kelantanese businessman, famed for his Sambal Nyet and Dendeng Nyet Berapi, gained much attention after posting a video today (March 25) showing how he closed both his factories in Kota Baru on March 24 to treat his staff for Hari Raya.

Thick envelopes filled with duit raya from Khairul. Thick envelopes filled with duit raya from Khairul. His gestures - including Hari Raya shopping, a buka puasa meal and generous duit raya - quickly gained traction on social media, amassing over two million views within hours.

"This is our yearly routine to show appreciation to our staff," the 32-year-old Kota Baru native said in his video voice-over. "It started with them picking their own Hari Raya outfits, choosing any colour and design they liked."Next came grocery shopping at a mall - Khairul's favourite part.

"Some knew exactly what they needed, while others were unsure. Some called their wives and family members for advice, while others picked up essentials like rice and diapers. A few even grabbed ingredients to try my recipes - but they better be prepared if the dish doesn't turn out well!" he joked.

To ease the shopping process, Khairul went the extra mile by hiring a lorry to transport everyone’s groceries. Back at the factory, he distributed duit raya in thick envelopes filled with RM100 notes, followed by a buffet dinner at a hotel.

His Instagram video has since garnered over 8,000 comments, close to 300,000 likes and over 27,000 shares. Khairul, who won the TikTok Awards Malaysia 2023 Creator of the Year title, has received widespread praise for his commitment to appreciating his staff.Instagram user @_azlanabdullahhh commented: "Hopefully, one day I can be like Khairul Aming, a successful entrepreneur who inspires many."

As usual, many social media users jokingly asked about job openings at his company.

User @ndhirhzkfli quipped: "KA, do you have any vacancies for an in-house doctor? I want to apply!"

Khairul is known for his commitment to employee welfare. In the past years, he has made headlines for hosting a two-day staff retreat at a resort and consistently going the extra mile during Hari Raya - distributing duit raya, providing meals, and organising shopping trips for his team.

In 2021, he introduced Sambal Nyet Berapi, a fiery chilli sambal. In February 2024, he launched his second product, Dendeng Nyet Berapi, which sold RM1.2mil's worth of products in just three minutes online.

Beyond business, Khairul also made waves internationally. Last September, he met with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, a gesture of appreciation from New Zealand for his travel content featuring the country’s food and culture.
