Last Friday was Valentine’s Day, a special day to show love and appreciation to the people who mean the most to us.

Valentine’s Day is not just for couples – it is also a wonderful time for children to show their parents, grandparents and siblings how much they love them.

Perhaps you baked cookies or prepared small surprises to make your siblings happy. We hope it was a day filled with smiles, laughter and warm hugs.

Remembering our loved ones on Valentine’s Day is important because it reminds us to be grateful. A simple act of kindness, like writing a heartfelt note or helping with chores, can make someone’s day extra special.

Love is not just about gifts – it is about showing we care in big and small ways.

Recently Starchild asked readers to send in letters on the topic, Valentine’s Day. We received an overwhelming response from our young readers and featured the first batch of letters last week. Here is the second batch of letters.

Chuah Seng Koon, 9

“For Valentine’s Day, I gave my best friend, Chng Yan Bei, RM20 to buy himself some presents. It is because his birthday is also in February,” says Chuah Seng Koon, nine.

Pang Yu Xuan, 6

Six-year-old Pang Yu Xuan writes: “Valentine’s Day is a beautiful day to show my care and love towards my parents. They take care of me and make every day special.”

“On Valentine’s Day, when I met my parents and teachers, I said, ‘I love you very much because you make me happy’,” writes Li Xin Yan, six.

Li Xin Yan, 6Nyon Qian Rou, six, says: “For Valentine’s Day, I drew and coloured cards and gave them to the special people in my life. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone.”

Lee Jian, 12, says: “I would like to wish my friend Lina, who is also 12 and from South Korea, a Happy Valentine’s Day. She is a friendly person. We met at church and became friends. We used to meet for practice at the golf range on Saturdays.”

Erica Sophia, 12, says, “I gave my best friend a small gift to show how much I value our friendship. Love isn’t just about big gestures – it’s about the little things we do every day to make others happy.”
