Hong Kong singer Steven Cheung has been working to rebuild his career and finances following a 2019 scandal, when he married Au Yin Man while still dating actress April Leung.

Since then, the 41-year-old has taken on a string of jobs to support his family of six, including construction work, cable wiring, distributing flyers and handing out condoms.

In a recent interview on a web show, Cheung said his priority now is to provide his four children with a stable life and a happy childhood.

He acknowledged that, over the years, he had resorted to various misguided ways to keep his family afloat, including borrowing money from others without knowing how he would repay them.

Cheung admitted that he was “semi-useless” to a certain extent, saying he was particularly poor at solving problems.

However, he rejected the accusation that he was “shameless”, explaining that he only turned to others for help after exhausting all other options.

“I had to do whatever it took to give my children a stable life,” he said.

Cheung said he now wants to find more sustainable ways to make a living and avoid repeating his past mistakes.

Despite cutting back and living as frugally as possible, he said he still thinks about how to cover his family’s daily expenses each day.
