Retired Hong Kong actress Cathy Chui has largely maintained a low profile since marrying businessman Martin Lee Ka Shing in 2006, the son of late real estate tycoon Lee Shau Kee.
The 43-year-old recently made a rare public appearance at a banquet celebrating the 200th anniversary of her alma mater, University College London (UCL).
A netizen who was lucky enough to chance upon her snapped a quick selfie with the former TVB star and shared it on Xiaohongshu.
The user noted that Chui – who has two daughters and two sons – was incredibly beautiful in person, writing: “She stands out in the crowd and is super nice.”
Many netizens also praised her appearance, saying she has retained much of her youthful looks and appears to have barely aged since stepping away from the spotlight nearly 20 years ago.
They noted that she exudes a gentle aura, with a radiant and youthful complexion.
Beyond her looks, Chui’s academic background is equally impressive, and she is often described as possessing both “beauty and brains”.
She graduated from UCL with a first-class honours degree in economics and holds a master’s degree in Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
In addition, Chui is actively involved in philanthropy and public welfare, participating in various humanitarian relief efforts and speaking out on social issues, particularly those concerning children.
Since kickstarting her showbiz career in 1997, Chui has starred in shows like Teaching Sucks! (1997), Cop Shop Babes (2001) and more.
Her final credited role before exiting the entertainment industry was the 2004 TVB drama Sunshine Heartbeat.
