In August 2025, action star Jet Li revealed that he gifted his eldest daughter a 300,000 yuan (RM176,846) car as a wedding present.

The 62-year-old actor shared that when it comes to giving gifts, what matters most is that the recipient genuinely loves them. In this case, he chose a Chinese car brand that his daughter favoured.

Li is a father of four daughters – two from his first marriage to former actress Huang Qiuyan, whom he divorced in 1991, and two more, aged 25 and 22, from his second marriage to retired Hong Kong actress Nina Li.

During a recent appearance at a promotional event for a car brand with his youngest daughter, Jada, Li revealed her reaction to the lavish wedding gift given to her half-sister.

“My younger daughter said to me, ‘You remember you have four daughters, right? You must treat us all fairly,’” Li recounted with a laugh, drawing laughter from the audience as well.

As reported by the portal Dimsum Daily, he then added, half-jokingly and half-exasperatedly: “What am I going to do if four sons-in-law turn up in the future?”

Li has previously admitted that his demanding career meant he missed much of his two eldest daughters’ childhoods, often only checking in about their studies due to his hectic schedule.

He seems to have a closer relationship with his younger two daughters, especially Jada, crediting her with teaching him how to be a father again.
