Local actress Koe Yeet made headlines in December 2024 after announcing that she would be getting married this year.

At the time, the 33-year-old shared several photos of the proposal on social media, with her fiance’s face obscured.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday (Aug 26), Koe gave fans a glimpse into her betrothal ceremony, held on Aug 22 in line with traditional Chinese pre-wedding customs.

Her fiance, who’s from outside the entertainment industry, prepared customary gifts including a fruit basket, roast pork, mooncakes and more.

“In our tradition, the groom doesn’t attend, but he surprised me with the sweetest note hidden in the fruit basket, so he could still be there,” Koe wrote in the caption.

She shared that the intimate gathering with relatives and her best friend was filled with laughter, tears and joy, adding: “My heart is so, so full.”

Koe is best known for her performance in the 2020 drama Titoudao: Inspired By The True Story Of A Wayang Star and its second season Titoudao: Dawn Of A New Stage (2023).

In an interview with StarLifestyle in January, Koe admitted to feeling both excited and nervous about the changes marriage will bring.

While the actress has plans to start a family in the future, she’s letting nature take its course.

“I don’t think I can ever prepare for the changes, but I can grow to embrace it by taking everything one step at a time.

“Change isn’t always bad. Sometimes, closing one door opens 10 others with better scenarios,” she said.
