Award-winning Hong Kong actor Wayne Lai was in Malaysia earlier in January for work.

During his time in the country, Lai, 60, explored Kuala Lumpur with his wife Julia Leung, whom he married in 1997.

The couple made the most of their time in the federal capital, savouring various local delicacies and visiting popular tourist landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers.

On March 20, Lai shared a vlog of his trip on Xiaohongshu (Red Note), offering fans a glimpse of the rich Malaysian flavours he experienced.

His video was captioned: “When you go out to work, the first thing you need to do is to find delicious food! Eat again and again. Have you tried this?”

The vlog opened with Lai savouring a comforting bowl of congee and a plate of chicken rice.

His food adventure continued with fish head curry, beef stew, prawn noodles, asam laksa and nasi lemak.

Of course, no visit to Malaysia would be complete without trying the “King of Fruits”, and the No Regrets (2010) star wrapped up his food hunt with a durian feast.

The vlog ended with a shot of the actor posing in front of the majestic Petronas Twin Towers.

Many fans have since flooded the comments section, expressing happiness at seeing Lai enjoying his time in Malaysia.

Others also encouraged him to return and explore other states, suggesting local specialties he should try on his next visit.

Since making his acting debut in 1986, Lai has become one of Hong Kong’s most successful actors, having won three TVB Anniversary Awards for Best Actor.

He’s known for his roles in The Gentle Crackdown II (2008), Rosy Business (2009) and The Confidant (2012), among others.
