Hong Kong actor Edwin Siu and actress Priscilla Wong have kept their fans guessing ever since they announced in November 2024 that they were expecting their first child.
The celebrity couple, who married in 2018, had disclosed neither her expected date of delivery nor the gender of the baby then.
The answer finally arrived on March 23, the day Siu turned 48.
Wong, 43, posted a video on her social media accounts that day to announce the birth of their son, tagging Siu in the post.
The 55-second video begins with the couple preparing to go to the hospital with a “mummy bag” and a suitcase they prepared in advance, with Wong joking she was “running away”.
Siu is later shown holding Wong’s hand in the delivery suite, after which Wong is seen holding the newborn’s hand. The video ends with the family of three back home.
Wong, who is known for her roles in TVB dramas such as the Line Walker series (2014 to 2020) and Battle Of The Seven Sisters (2021), wrote a post in Chinese to accompany the video: “Dear son, thank you for choosing us. Your dad and I kept asking each other if it was a dream or a reality, and we realised that this is what it feels like to hold on to happiness.”
She also thanked the hospital and its medical staff for their care.
“You have become my baby’s nanny and our teachers, allowing us to feel loved here every day,” she wrote. “Our son, it is dad’s birthday today. He said that his birthday wish has become true when we take you home.”
Alongside her pregnancy announcement in November, Wong disclosed she had previously suffered a miscarriage.
While Siu and Wong did not reveal when their son was born, veteran Hong Kong actor Lau Kong let the cat out of the bag on March 19 when he appeared on former Hong Kong actress Lee San San’s YouTube show and said Wong had given birth one or two days earlier.
Wong is not the only actress in the Hong Kong entertainment industry to have given birth recently.
