Celebrity chef lends his touch to all-new menu in Bandar Sunway

WHEN it comes to breakfast staples, eggs reign supreme and the creamy, soft scrambled eggs by superstar chef Gordon Ramsay truly takes centre stage.

Videos of the British chef and restaurateur’s perfectly scrambled eggs have taken the Internet by storm, showing his prowess and skill in handling the pan and heat to get perfectly cooked eggs.

Speaking of eggs, it is the superstar du jour in the all-new breakfast menu at Gordon Ramsay Bar and Grill in Sunway Resort Hotel.

The breakfast menu, curated by Ramsay himself, comprises refined versions of traditional breakfast staples, featuring the likes of Eggs Royale, Eggs Benedict, and English Breakfast.

Under its “Classics and Pastries” section, the Chia Seed Bowl, Cinnamon Brioche French Toast, pancakes and Greek yoghurt make the list of dawn of the day indulgences.

The hollandaise sauce that came with the Eggs Benedict gleamed in its glory.

It was served silky smooth and cascading over the poached eggs.

It looked like liquid satin, clinging with a dreamlike viscosity, evocative of Salvador Dalí’s melting clocks.

The poached eggs were served nestled atop two pillowy English muffins and layered with smoky chicken ham.

Overall, the Eggs Benedict delivered a rich, buttery mouthfeel.

Nicely toasted sourdough slathered with high-quality butter is indulgent on its own, but the addition of crushed avocado in the Crushed Avocado dish elevated it even further.

Crowned with two poached eggs, the dish was rich and filling.

Light and fresh best describes the Chia Seed Bowl, featuring oatmeal, honey, assorted fruits and toasted almonds.

The Buttermilk Pancakes were a feast for the eyes and a treat for the taste buds.

The juicy berries and vanilla yoghurt were good accompaniments.

A bigger treat came in the form of the Lobster Thermidor Muffin.

It was decked in with succulent Boston lobster, poached egg, caviar and gold leaves.

This indulgent treat, along with the Oscietra caviar served with warm blinis, creme fraiche and chives, are served as part of the breakfast menu.

Gordon Ramsay Bar and Grill executive chef Giles M. Langford said the dishes on the breakfast menu had a similar feel to what the chefs incorporated at the Savoy Grill in London, England.

Savoy Grill, one of the restaurants helmed by Ramsay, serves a classic British and French menu.

“We replicated the French toast, pancakes and egg dishes here at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

Complementing the menu is a range of energising beverages, from expertly brewed coffee and fresh juices to signature Energiser Shots like the Lemony Beet (beetroot, green apple, lemon) and Wake Me Up (orange, lemon, young ginger).

The menu is available as an a la carte option for walk-in guests and as an exclusive breakfast for in-house hotel guests, who can choose to swap the hotel’s conventional buffet for this complimentary curated menu.

Breakfast is served from 7am to 10.30am.
